The Vehicle

Nobody knows 's where we are going,
It's summer and nobody's talking.
The road is long but familiar,
One by one they leave the vehicle.

The red seven-seater is now empty
I'm left in a driverless car,
still on the long road.
It takes a while but soon it dawns,
I need to take control of the vehicle.

I find a layby, I park it up.
Nobody is here, but not for long.
Soon they descend, people I've never seen.
Why are they all suddenly here?
Parked by the vehicle.

There are 3 shops here,
A cafe, a salon and one unknown.
3 lone buildings, in the middle of nowhere
Hidden in a layby
3 shops and the vehicle.

I contact for help,
They arrive within minutes.
We try to drive forwards,
We don't move. The car suddenly jilts.
We are now upside down, in the vehicle.

There's a lot of broken glass
I thought I was going to die.
She calls for help.
We safely get out of the vehicle.

My clothes are gone
There's a storm approaching.
The shop's refrain from letting us in.
The rain starts to fall and the lightning strikes,
as we watch the vehicle.

I'm cold and wet.
But not alone.
Sat daydreaming about home.
I hear a familiar voice.
I'm going home, in the vehicle.
